Where Are They Now?

Then....Patty Brehm graduated from Washburn University with a B.A. in Business Administration (Finance major; Math minor) in 1978 and began working for the Office of the State Bank Commissioner (OSBC) in 1979. She worked in the Kansas City Field Office until 1986, when she accepted the Vice-President, Commercial Loan position at the Home State Bank in Kansas City.

Now.... Patty is the Vice President-Commercial Loans for the Bank of Blue Valley in Overland Park, KS. During her tenure at Blue Valley, Patty has been responsible for the bank's achievement of the Small Business Administration's (SBA) Certified Lender and Express status and has helped to make the bank a Top 10 SBA lender in the Kansas City Metro area. When asked about her job with the OSBC, Patty remarked, "I enjoyed working at the OSBC and met my husband, Dale, there in 1979. Dale's attempt to train me as an examiner didn't work out, but our marriage has survived 25 years!" Patty and Dale have two children in college-their daughter, Michelle, is attending graduate school in California, studying to be an optometrist, and their son, Mark, is a sophomore at KU. Her experience at the OSBC helped to prepare her for life on "the other side" and to see that "there is more than one way to do banking".
