Any person, upon request, shall have access to such open records which are in the possession and control of the designated Freedom of Information Officer ("FOIO") of this office for the purpose of inspection and may request that the records be copied. The Office of the State Bank Commissioner's Freedom of Information Officer is the General Counsel.
Any person ("customer") requesting access to a public record which is made, maintained or kept by this office may make a request any time during the following hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The request for records shall be made by submitting a completed and signed "Open Records Request Form". Under ordinary circumstances, the request shall be honored not later than the third business day following the date the request is received. If it is determined that a request cannot be met within the three day period, the FOIO shall give a detailed explanation of the cause of the delay and shall indicate the earliest date that the record will be available for inspection. If a request for access to any record is denied, the FOIO shall provide, upon written request from the customer, a written statement of the grounds for denial.
Fees for retrieval and review of records, copying of records or for copies (including any blank copies of forms used by the office) may be charged. If any such fees are charged, they are due at the time the records or copies are provided to the customer unless other arrangements have been made in advance. The fee for copies is $0.25 per page.
